This show is dedicated to encouraging you to step outside of your comfort zone and IN to your travel business - I'll show you how I did it and how you can too. Hit subscribe now and let's get into it.
In under 4 years, I went from being a home-based travel agent with zero clue how to make it work in the online world, to winning Mentor of the Year for Women In Travel helping our industry to build their digital influence.
So, when I had mentioned to my social media friend Jess, that I was meeting up with Alyce, from Bossy. Copywriting, she instantly said that she fangirls over her – which I get entirely – how could you not?
I learnt how Jess has enrolled in one of her courses and is absolutely loving her advice, support, digs the way she teaches and has that level of connection with her as she is someone she has always looked up too in business.
It got me thinking, as I’ve noticed a pattern between us and always thinking we have to go big to seek the the expertise from others to upskill. Whether that be coaching, mentorship or online learning.
Let’s look at a couple of similar examples on a slightly bigger scale
Here are the main reasons I prefer to learn from my business pals online (AND WHY!):-
1.) Expertise – everyone in business has their own unique wheelhouse of offerings – whether it’s specific to the travel industry or relevant to the day-to-day my business, regardless of what it is that I need, I just know that they have something to offer, some killer product or service and something I want to get my hot little hands on.
2.) Connection – learning from someone your already have a relationship with is far easier than trying to learn from someone you’ve never met, you don’t know, like or trust. Some may not even know your name when it comes down to it. hey most likely don’t know you either, or have your best interests at heart.
3.) Support – a small business, because I know, like and trust the person behind the scenes, they’re not just every other faceless business you see on the internet and nothing lights me up more than supporting a business pal in achieving their dreams, meanwhile supporting and prioritising my goals and dreams for my business at the same time – everybody wins!
4.) Curiosity of different industries – I have made the most incredible contacts since being in business and if you don’t already know, I have business pals from all different sectors, not just that in the travel industry. I love seeing how other business are engaging with their clientele, I love seeing their expertise and sales and marketing strategies in action – because unlike travel, they are all so totally different, and I love that diversity.
5.) Growth – I’ve witnessed them grow their business from the ground up, I remain inspired, a cheerleader from the sidelines, a loyal ally to the business and love everything about what they’re doing and my admiration grows because you’ve been witness to the magic they’ve created, the freedom they’ve built. And that in it’s self is an amazing feeling, being able to look at another business and totally fall in love with everything they’re about.
6.) Perfect fit client – you’ll find that when anyone online creates any sort of digital offer, like an online course, a virtual workshop or anything that is made specifically to make your life easier when it comes to business, I can guarantee you, that that person has most likely built that digital offer around exactly what your business model needs.
I’ll give you an example, take Travel Agent Runway, my flagship online course program – which was created specifically to assist independent travel agents to develop their very own Rockstar online personal brand with a repeatable step-by-step lead generation system to onboard their perfect fit clients into their database on autopilot, all to win back more time to take more trips and spend with their families!
Because it’s why most home-based and independent travel agents move over to a franchise model – to have the freedom, to choose their work hours and feel like they have control over the running of the business. But – this often gets overlooked, agents find themselves chained to their desks, they’re at the risk of burn-out and holidays are a foggy dream that’s somewhere on the horizon, all because they haven’t got the systems in place to help solve their biggest problems – the things that keep them up at night – the things that are time consuming and probably a little out of your scope of comprehension, maybe you struggle with the tech side of things or maybe just have zero clue where to start because you’re not necessarily aware there is a problem yet.
