This show is dedicated to encouraging you to step outside of your comfort zone and IN to your travel business - I'll show you how I did it and how you can too. Hit subscribe now and let's get into it.
In under 4 years, I went from being a home-based travel agent with zero clue how to make it work in the online world, to winning Mentor of the Year for Women In Travel helping our industry to build their digital influence.
It’s easy have strong brand and reputation when we’re working in real life – IRL, I mean… meeting clients and have a database or email list of people who know you personally.
So, when you’ve built up your travel business full of people who know you and have an existing relationship with you personally. Of course, they’re going to know your favourite wine, your kids names, where you last went on holiday, or maybe they even have it pinned down to what you’d do if you won lotto tonight.
All of which are fairly specific traits and characteristics that make up who you are and where they perceive you are in the marketplace.
So, how on earth this has to do with having a personal brand, how to be consistent online in a way that isn’t coming across as self-centred, egotistical or that you have some sort of inflated sense of self and how you establish the middle ground and that sweet spot for yourself.
‘And to clarify – your personal brand is not your logo, your brand colours, it is not what company you franchise under, what fancy title you have or anything like that.‘
There are so many ways you can do this online, by way of showing up in your business, but here are some tips to help you through:
✓ #1 If you know that the content you’re creating IS PURELY BASED around being of service – then this is your sweet spot;
✓ #2 If children appear on your business platforms regularly, make sure you’re okay with giving them a digital footprint inside of your content for people you don’t know to have access too;
✓ #3 It’s okay to be selective in what you share;
✓ #4 You don’t have to be a social media influencer to share things about your business.
✓ #5 If you’re feeling like you’re consistent in your digital marketing for just a few weeks but then fall off the wagon altogether and go radio silent for months – perhaps look at your delivery and frequency of posts. You’re either trying to do too much, rather than not enough.
